Our wattsmart Business program includes cash incentives and technical expertise for upgrading your lighting and other equipment that increases your energy efficiency and exceeds code requirements.
We help you weigh your technical and financial options. You can choose a Rocky Mountain Power wattsmart Business vendor or an independent energy consultant for technical expertise.
Lighting retrofit steps
- Before you start your project, contact us or a wattsmart Business Vendor and complete a general application (PDF). We may need to verify existing equipment.
- We provide an offer letter - here's a sample (PDF). Sign the offer letter before you order equipment. You provide a completed W-9 form (PDF) so we (or our program administrator) can prepare a 1099-Misc. (if required) following the incentive payment.
- Upgrade your lighting.
- Submit project cost documentation including invoices with a breakdown of materials and labor. Then, contact Rocky Mountain Power or your wattsmart Business vendor for a post-installation inspection.
- Receive incentive check within 45 days of completion of step 4.

Notes for lighting retrofit incentives:
1. To be eligible for the incentives listed, the new lighting system must use less energy than the existing lighting system replaced or the
baseline lighting system as determined by Rocky Mountain Power.
2. Incentives are capped at 70 percent of energy efficiency project costs and will not be available to reduce the energy efficiency project
simple payback below one year. Energy efficiency project costs are subject to approval by Rocky Mountain Power.
3. Incentives for T8 fluorescent premium delamps may not be combined with other linear fluorescent lamp or fixture incentives.
Complete fixture removals are not eligible.
4. Incentives for T8 and T5 fluorescent relamps may not be combined with other linear fluorescent lamp or fixture incentives and will
only be paid once per facility.
5. Qualified equipment lists referenced in the above table are posted on the Utah energy efficiency program section at wattsmart.com.
BF = Ballast Factor
CEE = Consortium for Energy Efficiency
CFL = Compact Fluorescent Lamp
CMH = Ceramic Metal Halide
HID = High Intensity Discharge (e.g. Mercury Vapor, High Pressure Sodium, Metal Halide)
HO = High Output
LED = Light-Emitting Diode
PSMH = Pulse-Start Metal Halide
VHO = Very High Output
Thanks for taking the time to that, I feel strongly about this and so really like getting to know more on this kind of field. Do you mind updating your blog post with additional insight? It should be really useful for all of us.Parking Lot Light Fixtures
