Are incandescent bulbs being discontinued in 2012? The answer is no

and yes! This deals with the fact that certain high wattage light

bulbs are being outlawed and discontinued and some are not affected.

 

 

These are the changes for the standard A-Lamp: 100 watt is outlawed 

and a 72 watt is put in its place, 75 watts outlawed to 53 watts, 60 

watts to 43 watts, also a 40 watt bulb will be replaced with a 29 watt 

bulb.
